Being chosen to take part in "English Teachers as Change Agents" project, I had a great opportunity to discover and clarify a lot of interesting things, to have a look at methodology from a different point of view. It was the time of new discoveries and challenges.
Who is a teacher? What is the role of a teacher at the lesson? Our trainers, Tetyana Dekshna and Galyna Terentieva, helped us to answer these and a lot of other questions. With their help, we've understood the importance of lesson planning and sound lesson management. And now, we know the difference between aims, objectives and outcomes, learnt different approaches to lesson planning (PPP, TTT, TBL, TPR). Many of us discovered Bloom's Taxonomy and Maslow's Pyramid, and we'll definitely use these while planning our future lessons.
Besides, we're going to help our colleagues in local schools to understand all these things as well. Hope we'll have a good time together.
After a week spent with the British Council team, I feel more confident about my professional skills and have a different vision of my mission as a teacher.
Many thanks to my group mates for their openness, readiness to collaborate and for the hot discussions we've had during the session ))
I am grateful to British Council and our trainers for this unbelievable opportunity for our professional growth.
