Workshop

January 10th was a special day for English teachers of Dolyna Specialized School 6. They came across a lot of interesting and useful things at the training "Understanding 21st century skills. Understanding and engaging with lesson planning". The workshop was based on the materials of the "English Teachers as Change Agents" programme from British Council Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. 

The participants uncovered the core skills our learners need to develop to be successful in the future, understood the importance of lesson planning and discovered common lesson models a teacher can use in the classroom (TTT, PPP, TBL). One more thing to discover was Bloom's Taxonomy. Stimulation of higher levels of thinking skills is vital in the modern world and everybody agreed with this statement.

Besides, the teachers actively participated in different activities which I was presented at the training in Kyiv. They promised to implement them at their lessons of English and adapt them according to their learners' levels and needs. 

With the help of British Council there are more and more teachers now who are involved into the process of changes in our educational system. I hope these changes will help our learners to be successful members of the society.
